Mission Statement

Sensory Safe Inc is dedicated to the creation and promotion of inclusive-first entertainment events for children and young adults. Our mission is to foster a diverse and welcoming environment where individuals of all backgrounds and abilities can come together to enjoy enriching and inclusive entertainment experiences. Through our events, we aim to promote social inclusion, celebrate diversity, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.

In pursuit of our charitable and educational purposes, Sensory Safe Inc intends to seek federal tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We will operate exclusively for charitable, educational, and cultural purposes, as outlined in section 501(c)(3), and our activities will be conducted in accordance with the regulations and guidelines set forth by the IRS.

Vision

Our vision is to create a supportive and inclusive community around the need for sensory-friendly children’s events and programming. By offering a way to find sensory friendly events, we aspire to support parents and lower the barrier for participation for neurodiverse children across the country. It is our goal to keep the database free for promoters and searches through use of grants, donations, and ethical advertising.

Sensory Safe Events History

Sensory Safe Events began in 2021 as a quick and easy solution for parents of three neurodiverse children. Kristina Louise Treadwell was tired of trying to collect, manage, and remember what sensory friendly events were going on in her local Miami community. She was tired of trying to manage links and texts between her husband for their three young boys. With a robust background in web development, Kristina created the directory website just for her family. But as it grew in size, she realized that this resource could be just as useful to others as it has been for her.

Now, Kristina Louise has grown the Sensory Safe brand to include a small dedicated team. Anyone can submit an event to the Sensory Safe website. We accept submissions from individuals as well as organizers and venue managers. The directory features events from dozens of cities across various categories and themes. Sensory Safe Events became a certified 501c3 non-profit organization in 2024.

Kristina Louise Treadwell

(Officer/Director)

This is Kristina. She has freelanced in e-marketing for years and is a self-proclaimed, eternal web development geek and social media junkie. She learned about the human side of computer science while earning a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. She wrote her thesis paper on human-computer interaction. Her skills include web development (especially PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and all things WordPress), usability testing, and social media integration. Kristina is especially passionate about web accessibility and will happily discuss that topic with you for hours on end!

Kristina loves coffee, is full of useless facts, and is eagerly waiting for Jeopardy to call. She lives in South Florida with her three bouncing boys and her husband.

Trévar Treadwell

(Officer/Director)

Trévar Treadwell began his career in event marketing while attending Michigan State University. The size and scale of his events grew as he relocated to Miami in the early 2000s. His high profile events caught the eye of major brands and he started curating events for them and their products. This expanded outside of Miami, moving on to representing brands and product launches nationwide. His understanding of event curation lead him to bring his services closer to home. Having kids with sensory sensitivity allowed him refocus his efforts to creation of sensory safe events and experiences for all ages.

Kayleigh Farmer

(Officer/Director)
