Sensory Friendly Hour | Bakersfield Museum of Art | Bakersfield, CA

The museum will open one hour earlier for our families to enjoy a quiet Sensory Friendly environment without public distractions. Upon arrival you will knock on the door if a representative is not at the door and proceed to the front desk to check in with a Kern Autism Network Representative/Museum Staff. Once you are checked in, you may visit the art exhibit areas. Please note some of the artwork may be adult in nature and more mature. Please know that upon arrival that you are aware of this and have staff guide you away from those areas to avoid.
We are happy to have partnered with another community supporter-The Bakersfield Museum of Art. Join us this summer for Sensory Friendly Hour for the months of July and August. View the artwork in the museum and end with a craft/activities before you leave.

Note: Registering is important so that the museum knows who and how many to expect. This is all possible by the museum staff opening one hour earlier for our organization and families to enjoy in a quiet sensory friendly environment.
