Join us for a series of sensory events, designed for guests with sensory sensitivities or special needs who might benefit from a less-crowded environment. These experiences will provide a quieter and calmer environment for guests to explore the museum, experience the nature trails of WildWoods, and enjoy a sensory-friendly film screening in the Giant Screen Theater.

Explore indoor exhibits and outdoor nature experiences at your own pace, an hour before our normal opening.

Sensory-Friendly Giant Screen Film | 10:15 a.m.
Enjoy a movie screening with modified lighting, lowered volume and no need for 3D glasses. Featured movies vary based on date.

We will open an hour early at 9 a.m. and the first film will be in 2D, with lowered sounds and “credit” lights.

This ticket includes access to all indoor museum exhibits, one movie in the Giant Screen Theater, plus all outdoor experiences in WildWoods and Fernbank Forest.

A second Giant Screen Movie can be purchased at the entrance to the theater on the date of your visit for only $5.00.

Entrance to the Giant Screen Theater is located on the lower level in the Star Gallery. Choose your movie and time after you arrive. Simply visit the Giant Screen Theater entrance within 15 minutes of any showtime, and the Theater Attendant will process your entry to the film of your choice on a first-come, first-served basis.
