Special Needs Sundays | Childrens Museum of Virginia | Portsmouth, VA

Every Second Sunday from 9am-12pm We’re expanding the opportunity for children with special needs and their families to visit the museum in a less overwhelming environment. The museum hopes to alleviate any stress by providing a special date and time for them to enjoy the museum through adapted programs and exhibits as well as a reduced number of visitors. Join us once a month for a special event and themed activities.

We’ll do all we can to make sure your visit is a fun and enriching experience.
At the Children’s Museum of Virginia, we want everyone to feel welcome, including kids with special needs and their families and caretakers. Upon request we can provide ear coverings, weighted vests and more. Please ask at the Admission Desk if you have any questions or requests.
